Founded in 1660, the Royal Society's purpose
is to promote and advance the understanding
of science, technology and engineering worldwide.
Many eminent scientists have been elected
as Fellows of the Society, including Isaac
Newton, Charles Darwin, Ernest Rutherford,
Albert Einstein, Dorothy Hodgkin and Stephen
Hawking.

For over 300 years, the Royal Society has
held some of the most important events in
the scientific world. The Society is based
in Carlton House Terrace in London, overlooking
The Mall and St James's Park and offers
state of the art audio visual services.

Liam Helm, Audio Visual Services Manager
for the Royal Society, has been working
with Whitwam for about 13 years. 'My relationship
with Whitwam was originally inherited from
a predecessor, so when I needed to purchase
AV installation services, I tendered the
work out and found that Whitwam was the
most knowledgeable, experienced and competitively
priced. Over the years we have used Whitwam
for most of our installation and events
production work - and now the company has
become our preferred supplier. Occasionally
we tender out projects to ensure that we
are still getting the best deals from Whitwam;
David Harding (Whitwam Director) and his
team never cease to prove themselves as
best of breed!'

'It is really important that the audio visual
installations supplier understands the exact
design requirements for a specific meeting
or conference facility. Once assessed, the
design needs to be specified, and again
it is really important not to over or under
specify the requirement. Once installed,
we need to know we can pick up the phone
for additional support, or if necessary
call in our suppliers to address any specific
problems. We have an excellent relationship
with David and his team and know that they
can always be trusted to do an excellent
job.'
